Dark Rum

Dark rum is matured longer than clear white rum, usually in heavily charred oak barrels. It also possesses a far superior flavor than white rum or even gold rum, possible with a sweeter taste. It is frequently flavored with caramel, spices, molasses, vanilla and other subtle flavorings and nearly all dark rums are noticeable.

Light rums are commonly used in cocktails, whereas “golden” and “dark” rums were normally consumed individually, that is directly or neat or used for cooking, but are now usually consumed with mixers. Finest rums are also obtainable, made to be consumed either instantly or iced.
